Before the cast arrives

Set the table. Keep the secret.

  1. 01

Count players. Use roles 1–6 for six players, then add 7, 8, 9, and 10 as needed.

  2. 02

Keep the Host Guide and sealed Final Toast private.

  3. 03

Send or hand one secret role card to each player. Never share cards in the group chat.

  4. 04

Put a harmless object in the center of the room. A drink, dessert, or candle becomes The Toast.

  5. 05

Set one 45-minute timer. Start it when you hand out the cards.

Say this at the start

“Welcome to [PARTY NAME] at Blackwood Manor. A final toast for [THE TOASTEE] vanished during an eight-second blackout. Keep your role private, share only what your card allows, and keep it fictional. We'll follow three reveals, make one accusation, then film one ten-second trailer moment.”

Run this clock

No improv required.

Set one timer and move when it tells you to. The room does not have to solve anything perfectly.

0:00

Give out the cards. Read the one-minute rules in the Host Guide.

0:04

Opening alibis: one sentence from each player.

0:08

Read Turn 1: The Flicker.

0:12

Read Reveal 1: The Torn Edge.

0:25

Read Reveal 2: The Coral Correction.

0:35

Read Reveal 3: The Lights.

0:40

Count one final accusation.

0:42

Read the sealed Final Toast.

0:43

Film the optional 10-second trailer moment.

0:45

End. Thank the cast. Return to the party.

Stop / Go

Give the room a beat. Then move it on.

Reveal 1

Stop: Wait until four people have spoken and one direct question was asked. Go at 0:12 anyway.

Reveal 2

Stop: Wait until the draft, coral pen, or false alibi was mentioned. Go at 0:25; name those three elements yourself if needed.

Reveal 3

Stop: Wait until everyone has had a chance to speak or pass. Go at 0:35; take a quick suspect vote first if time is tight.

Fast fixes

Every party wanders. You have the line.

Off-script

“Great tangent. Back to the missing page: what did you see, hold, or hear?”

Late guest

“Before Reveal 2, give them a private card. After it, let them ask questions and vote. After Reveal 3, make them the manor press for the trailer.”

Missed clue

“Here is the board: a draft moved, a coral edit improved the ending, and someone staged eight seconds of darkness.”

Too quiet

“Who had access to a page, a pen, or the lights?”

Finish line

End on the reaction.
